The first digital image was produced in December 1975 by Kodak and Steve Sasson. The 8 pound camera took pictures that recorded onto cassette tape at 0.01 Megapixels. The first photograph took about 23 seconds to process. This event started a revolution in photography that led us to where we are today in the digital age. Part of the camera was taken from the super 8 camera. These cameras used 16 nickel cadmium batteries.
